Office Closure for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

In recognition, the Athabasca County Administration, FCCS, and Public Works offices will be closed on Monday October 2nd, 2023 in lieu of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day to honour Survivors and families who courageously share their stories and to remember the children who never came home. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
In honour of the day, the Athabasca Native Friendship Centre will be hosting a free pancake brunch from 9:00am-1:30pm on Friday September 29th.
Former residential school students can call 1-866-925-4419 for emotional crisis referral services and information on other health supports from the Government of Canada.
Indigenous peoples across Canada can also go to The Hope for Wellness Help Line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for counselling and crisis intervention.
For emergencies related to municipal water and sewer services, please contact the After-Hours Emergency Line at 780-689-9000. Please dial 9-1-1 for emergencies requiring police, fire, or ambulance.
