Commercial wastewater haulers now subject to a tipping fee
This is to inform all commercial wastewater haulers that effective April 15, 2018 an annual Lagoon Access and Usage Fee of $650 per company will be implemented.
The fee will give each company access to all Athabasca County lagoons and was made necessary by recent damage to County facilities and needed upgrades. The new tipping fee was passed by resolution at the February 20, 2018 Regular Public Works Meeting and is now in effect after being added to Schedule A of Bylaw 02-1017.
Security locks to the lagoon sites will be changed on
April 15, 2018. Should you wish to continue to access Athabasca County Lagoons (Baptiste/Island Lake, Colinton, Grassland, Rochester and Wandering River) please contact the Infrastructure Services Department for arrangements for 2018 tipping fee payment, issue of new security key and to sign a Conditional Letter of Authorization.
Letters have been sent to all known companies operating within Athabasca County advising them of these changes. If you have been missed please contact our office for more information or to have any questions answered.
Please contact the Infrastructure Services Department with any questions about this change.
