Please be advised that effective May 13, 2019 Athabasca County has issued the following FIRE RESTRICTION:
Athabasca County has upgraded the existing Fire Advisory to a Fire Restriction for the area of the County outside of the Forest Protection area.
- This restriction PROHIBITS the discharge of fireworks and SUSPENDS all fire permits issued for burn barrels.
- No new permits will be issued until fire conditions improve.
- No open fires are allowed in back country or random camping areas.
- Small cooking and warming fires are allowed in fire rings at this time.
Athabasca County urges everyone to use extreme caution when working or driving in grassy areas, be mindful of debris collecting on hot exhaust which could result in the ignition of a fire.
