Athabasca County understands there are some concerns about where the new school, pool and library will be located in Athabasca.
Each of these facilities has unique needs that need to be considered with the input of any partners or boards associated with the operation of them.
These projects are still in their early stages and no firm decisions have been made as to their location or funding models.
While a verbal commitment for support of the new school has been made, no formal agreement for the building of the facility has been signed between the municipalities, the school board and the Government of Alberta.
The County remains committed to seeing our region grow and is developing ways to keep residents informed about progress with these projects.
