Boyle Healthcare Centre Emergency Department Disruption

Athabasca County has received the following release from Alberta Health Services:

The Boyle Healthcare Centre emergency department is closed at 4 p.m. today, Thursday, July 11, until 9 a.m., Friday, July 12, due to a lack of registered nursing staff and an inability to secure temporary coverage.
The ED continues to be temporarily closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. Signage will be posted at the door stating the closure.
Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency. AHS is working hard to ensure local residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time.

EMS will remain available in the community as per standard procedures and will work with the local healthcare centre to ensure residents continue to have access to the emergency services they need.
Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions.
This disruption may be cancelled should coverage be found.
