Annual Assessment Inspections Begin June 17th

We have been receiving questions about the property inspections that are underway in the County. Here are a few key points:

  1. Property assessment is a standard practice that has happened in Athabasca annually since the County was established. All municipalities must prepare annual assessments for each property under the Municipal Government Act.
  2. Assessments are conducted by a County-appointed assessor. The assessors are currently visiting properties. If they are unable to speak to the owner, they will leave a call back card with more information.
  3. Assessors will not enter gated properties but will leave behind a callback card at the gate.

For further information on the assessment process, please contact our assessors at 780-464-4655.

Assessors from Accurate Assessment Group Ltd. (AAG) will be conducting a General Assessment to inspect all properties on behalf of Athabasca County starting mid June 2024.

Please be aware that Assessors will be taking pictures and walking the properties.  They will not require access into your home or buildings.  The Assessors will be in marked vehicles with the Athabasca County logo on doors and wearing photo ID under Accurate Assessment Group Ltd.

All inspections shall be conducted Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

If property owners have any questions, they are encouraged to call the Accurate Assessment Group office 780-464-4655.
