Athabasca County is seeking an experienced and strategic leader for the role of Director of Infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Infrastructure is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of Athabasca County’s public works, utilities, parks, agricultural services, and other essential facilities within the municipality. This role plays a vital and fundamental part of overseeing the planning, development, and management of all infrastructure projects for the municipality.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Leadership & Oversight: Manage Public Works, Utilities, and Agricultural Services operations.
• Project Management: Plan and execute major infrastructure initiatives, including roads, bridges, utilities, parks and facilities.
• Strategic Planning: Develop long-term strategies to meet current and future infrastructure needs.
• Budgeting: Prepare and manage department budgets, ensuring compliance and efficient resource allocation.
• Team Leadership: Inspire and guide a skilled team, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Community Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders and address public feedback on infrastructure matters.
• Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and integrate sustainable practices into projects.
