We are saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Berkley Ferguson. On behalf of Athabasca County, I extend our condolences to his family.
Mr. Ferguson served on County Council and the School Board from 1971-77, and then again from 1986 through 2001, sitting as Reeve between 1990 and 1998.
Service to community is important, and Mr. Ferguson set an example of service through his many years on County Council, the School Board, and involvement with other organizations in the region.
Athabasca County will be lowering our flags to half-mast as a sign of respect and mourning.
