Boyle Healthcare Centre Service Disruption September 20th-22nd

Athabasca County has received the following release from Alberta Health Services:
There will be no physician on site in the emergency department (ED) at the Boyle Healthcare Centre the following times:
• 9 a.m., Friday, September 20 – 8 p.m., Friday, September 20
• 9 a.m., Saturday, September 21 – 8 p.m., Saturday, September 21
• 9 a.m., Sunday, September 22 – 8 p.m., Sunday, September 22
Patients who present to the ED from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. on September 20, 21 and 22, will be triaged and assessed by registered nurses and referred to alternate emergency departments.
The ED continues to be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m.
Signage will be posted at the door.
Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency. AHS is working hard to ensure local residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time.
EMS will remain available in the community as per standard procedures and will work with the local healthcare centre to ensure residents continue to have access to the emergency services they need.
Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions.
This disruption may be cancelled should coverage be found.
