Athabasca County Council has authorized the opening of Forfar Park and Hope Lake Campground on July 1, 2020.
Campground managers and staff have been hired to run the facilities and will be taking bookings for the remainder of the camping season.
As of June 24, 2020, bookings can be made by calling the campgrounds directly:

Forfar Park – 780-675-5253
** Regular fees for the use of all amenities at Hope Lake Campground and Forfar Recreation Park will be reinstated as of July 1, 2020.
All other County-owned and operated self-registration campsites will remain closed for overnight camping including Jackfish Lake, Baptiste Lake, Long Lake, Narrow Lake, Island Lake, Ghost Lake, and North Buck Lake Narrows.
Open: Boat Launches, Day-Use, and Beaches
To provide residents with additional recreation options this summer, Athabasca County Recreation Services will be maintaining boat launches, day use sites and beaches at Jackfish Lake, Baptiste Lake, Long Lake, Narrow Lake, Island Lake, Ghost Lake, and North Buck Lake Narrows.
All fees for self-registration facilities have been waived at these sites for the 2020 season.
Please Note: Public washrooms at self-registration facilities will remain closed.
