A Public Hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the County Office to allow the public discussion of an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw 06-2002, insofar as it applies to authority to make decisions on development permits within Athabasca County.
The Municipal Government Act, R.S.A. 2000 (“the Act”) authorizes the Council to establish and amend a Land Use Bylaw; and the Council of Athabasca County, duly assembled, enacts as follows:
That Bylaw No. 6-2002, being the Land Use Bylaw of Athabasca County, is hereby amended as follows:
THAT, Section 2.4 Development Approval Authorities, Subsection (5) The Development Authority Officer, be amended as follows:
- In subsection 5(a) delete the words “permitted use” such that the revised subsection reads as:
5(a) shall consider and decide upon all development permit applications unless the application is referred to the Municipal Planning Commission pursuant to this section.
- In subsection 5(b) replace the words “ for discretionary use” with ” exceeding a 10% variance of the regulations” , such that the revised subsection reads as follows:
5(b) shall refer with their recommendations to the Municipal Planning Commission for its consideration and decision all development permit applications exceeding a 10% variance of the regulations;
3. Delete subsection (5)(i) in its entirety.
A copy of Bylaw 004-2018 being the amending Bylaw, may be obtained by interested parties at the County Office during normal working hours.
