Request for Proposals – Animal Pound Services

Athabasca County invites Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified animal care providers to provide Animal Pound Services on behalf of the County.
Athabasca County animal pound services consist of boarding and feeding of dogs as well as collecting applicable storage and impoundment fees, arranging for veterinary treatment for the dogs and coordination of adoption services.
The County’s objectives with respect to animal pound services are as follows:

  1. Board dogs that are impounded pursuant to Athabasca County’s Animal Control Bylaw, and on occasion may require the coordination of adoption services.
  2. Humane care of dogs brought to the pound which may include the coordination and transfer to veterinary care if required.
  3. Working cooperatively with Athabasca County in coordinating pound keeping services: and
  4. Providing excellent customer services.

Proponents are hereby invited to submit a Proposal for the provision of the following Animal Pound Services project:

Closing Date: April 12, 2024 at 3:00pm (MST)
Estimated Project Start: September 1, 2024 (Open to Negotiation)
These dates may be subject to change at the County’s discretion. No Proposal shall be altered, amended, or withdrawn after the Closing Time.
Indicate the Project Name and RFP Number on all correspondence.

Proponents must submit the entire document of this RFP, along with all other noted requirements. RFP submissions shall be sealed and enclosed in envelope(s) marked with the project name and the RFP number. The Proponent must provide two (2) hard copy of the proposal document. Electronic submissions will not be accepted.
