Athabasca County is currently experiencing widespread overland flooding throughout all areas of the County as a result of sudden spring melt and warmer temperatures.
Residents and the travelling public may encounter high water levels in roadside ditches, and water encroaching or crossing roadways. The County has been actively steaming blocked culverts and continues to respond to assist in the release of water as quickly as possible. Please obey any signage on roadways.
Numerous roads have been closed in Athabasca County due to overland flooding. Motorists are asked to slow down, watch for water on the roads, and be prepared for changing road conditions. If water is present, use extreme caution or avoid the area if possible.
