A new Tourism and Economic Development (TED) Strategic Plan has been adopted by County Council following a recommendation by the TED Committee.
The plan is the result of a strategic planning session held in Athabasca on August 28 to 30, 2018.
Tourism Main Goals
• Develop and implement a marketing and advertising strategy promoting regional tourism;
• Encourage the development of tourism based businesses in order to provide services for visitors.
Economic Development Main Goals
• Promote regional assets and advocate for continued growth and increased capacity;
• Connect and invest with business and industry to foster good working relationships to grow development in the region.
The TED Committee is comprised of members from the Town of Athabasca, the Village of Boyle, Athabasca University, Athabasca County, and members at large.
