Athabasca County has received the following notice from Alberta Health Services:
Due to a clinical personnel shortage and an inability to secure temporary coverage, the Boyle Healthcare Centre emergency department (ED) will be without onsite physician coverage from:
• 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 11
Patients who present to the ED during this time will be triaged and assessed by registered nurses and referred to alternate emergency departments.
The Boyle ED continues to be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m.
Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency. AHS is working hard to ensure residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time.
EMS will remain available in the community to ensure residents continue to have access to the emergency services they need.
Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health -related questions.
