Applications will be accepted commencing January 5, 2026, until January 30, 2026. The camping season runs from approximately mid-May to mid-September, weather dependent (no refunds will be granted if the length of the season changes due to weather or any other circumstances).
Resident: Any person residing within the municipality of Athabasca County. A resident tenant may need to provide confirmation of residency from their landlord.
Fee: $2,000 plus a $50 non-refundable application fee.
Non-Resident: Any person residing outside of the Municipality of Athabasca County.
Fee: $2,500 plus a $50 non-refundable application fee.
Residents are assigned campsites first. Any remaining campsites are allocated to non-residents. If public interest results in a higher number of applicants than campsites available, campsites will be awarded on a lottery basis. If this is the case, you are not guaranteed to be a successful candidate. Applicants will be notified by email of the outcome.
If you are applying for a double campsite, an application is required for each campsite number.
Seasonal campsite rates do not include boat launch or additional unit/vehicle fees. Seasonal Day Passes are available for purchase, which gives you full access for the 2026 camping season to the day-use areas and boat launches within Athabasca County. Those interested in purchasing can inquire with the Campground Manager or the County Administration office at 780-675-2273.
Applications can be emailed to info@athabascacounty.com or hand-delivered to 3602–48 Avenue, Athabasca, AB.
