Important information regarding the interim campaign financing and discloser report deadline.
Section 147.4(2) of the Local Authorities Election Act states that on or before September 30 of a year in which a general election is to be held, a candidate who has received contributions in the period beginning on January 1 and ending on July 31 of that year must file a disclosure statement in respect of that period.
Candidates who submitted their notice of intent within the period noted, please accept this as a reminder of this requirement. It is the candidate’s responsibility to understand and comply with all campaign finance and disclosure requirements. There are serious consequences for not adhering to these requirements. Please see Part 5.1 of the Local Authorities Election Act and the Municipal Campaign Finance FAQ on the County’s Website.
