In accordance with the requirements of Section 606 of the Municipal Government Act, as amended, the Council of Athabasca County has scheduled a Public Hearing for February 12, 2026 starting at 9:30 a.m.
THE PUBLIC HEARING IS BEING HELD TO ALLOW PUBLIC INPUT ON THE FOLLOWING BYLAW:
Bylaw 004-2026 – The proposed road closure bylaw as follows:
All that portion of government road allowance lying adjacent to the north east quarter of section 28, township 64, range 18, west of the fourth meridian, laying north of the easterly projection of the south boundary of Lot 1, Block 1, Plan 112 0217, and south of a line drawn perpendicular to the westerly boundary of said government road allowance sixty five (65) meters south of the north east corner of said Lot 1, containing 0.503 Hectares (1.24 acres) more or less, excepting thereout all mines and minerals.
There will be two (2) public hearings held on Thursday February 12, 2026, for two (2) bylaws. The public hearing will commence at 9:30 a.m. or as soon as practical thereafter and will occur in the sequential order of 003-2026 and 004-2026. Therefore, those wishing to participate should be in attendance at 9:30 a.m.
Anyone wishing to address Council on these matters may provide a written statement by 12:00 noon, February 11, 2026, by forwarding it to:
