With water levels receding, the damages from the flooded areas are being assessed and prioritized based on factors such as only access to property and the overall usage of the roadway.
Graders worked through the weekend in and effort to repair minor damage and rutting. With the significant number of areas that have experienced damage we encourage the traveling public to exercise caution while driving on local roads as hazards such as shoulder erosions still exist throughout the municipality. Although our Traffic Bylaw permits a maximum speed of 80 km/hr on most gravel roads, we recommend that motorists drive to the condition of the roadway and that not all roads will allow normal travelling speeds until repairs are made.
R.R. 193 is now open to the public and the other roads that are closed are being monitored and repairs scheduled.
County staff continue to inventory the number of locations and the repairs required to schedule repairs on a priority basis. Repairs are ongoing and we thank the traveling public for their patience as we aggressively schedule the required repairs.
