Photo donation made to County

Historic photo of AAMDC convention donated to Athabasca County

Evelyn Reneau presented Athabasca County Deputy Reeve Warren Griffin and Reeve Doris Splane, with a historical photo of delegates at the 55th Annual Convention of the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Councils that took place in Edmonton, November 19 to 22, 1963.

The photo was owned by her late father Bill Bahry, who with the support of his wife Anne, served as Division 4 Councilor for Athabasca County from 1963 to 1978.

Upon the passing of their father the photo was found among his effects. Recognizing what it was, Evelyn and sister Gail Purdy, decided to pass it along to the County as a historical keepsake.

County Council wanted to recognize the family for making the donation of the photo by asking them to attend the January 9, 2018 Regular Council Meeting.

Our thanks to the extended Bahry family for thinking of the County as the proper place to donate this photo. It now hangs in the Athabasca County Administration Office as a reminder of the past that and be treasured into the future.
