Crews are currently mopping up hot spots and ground fires within the fire’s perimeter. Fire Services staff will remain on-site to oversee operations, which are mainly carried out by Alberta Wildfire crews.
Environmental and damage surveys are ongoing along the fire guards and are expected to be completed later this week.
Traffic restrictions along Highway 831 will be lifted today. However, motorists are reminded to remain alert for activity along the highway.
The three-hour evacuation alert will also be lifted effective today at 2 pm.
Additionally, the Incident Command Post at the Boyle Village Office has been demobilized. We extend our gratitude to the Village of Boyle and the Boyle Senior Centre for allowing us to use their space over the past week.
Although the fire emergency has ended, please note that a full fire ban remains in effect for Athabasca County. Thank you for your cooperation.
