Athabasca County will fly its flags at half-mast in recognition of Firefighters’ National Memorial Day on September 14, 2025.
This day honours the brave firefighters across Canada who have fallen in the line of duty while protecting their communities.
We pay special tribute to Hal Harrison with Colinton Fire Rescue who lost his life in the line of duty on May 6, 1995. A new memorial was erected in August 2025 to recognize his dedication and service.
