Flags at Half-Mast – National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism

Flags at Athabasca County facilities are lowered today on Tuesday, June 23 to recognize the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism. This day recognizes the anniversary of the bombing of Air India Flight 182 in 1985. In total, 329 people lost their lives, many of whom were Canadian.

On this day, flags across Canada, including in Athabasca County, are flown at half-mast to honour the victims of the bombing, as well as other acts of terrorist violence that have taken lives.
