Athabasca County is currently accepting applications for a full-time Director of Finance to lead the County’s financial planning, budgeting, and overall financial management.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), this senior leadership role ensures strong fiscal stewardship, long-term financial sustainability, and compliance with legislation and accounting standards. The Director works closely with Council, senior leadership, and the Finance team to support effective decision-making and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead multi-year budgets and strategic financial planning
• Advise Council and senior leaders on key decisions
• Oversee reporting, audits, investments, and cash flow
• Ensure compliance with legislation and accounting standards
• Inspire and manage a high-performing Finance team
