Boyle Healthcare Centre – Service Update

Athabasca County has received the following update from Alberta Health Services (AHS):

On September 29, 2025, five acute beds and one palliative care bed will reopen at the Boyle Healthcare Centre. This means patients will be able to receive care closer to home.

At this time, the remainder of the acute beds at the healthcare centre will remain closed, and the healthcare centre’s Emergency Department (ED) will remain closed overnight (open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.).

Patients in need of emergency care overnight should call 911. EMS remains available in the community and work closely with the healthcare team to ensure residents can access emergency services.

Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811 or visit MyHealth.Alberta.ca (https://myhealth.alberta.ca/), which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions.
