Join us at the 3rd Annual Community & Protective Services BBQ – Celebrating Alberta Day event on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Athabasca County/FCSS parking lot.
Enjoy a free BBQ, frozen treats, and family-friendly games, while learning more about some of the local services available and celebrating Alberta and all the people living in this great province. Representatives from The United Church Food Pantry and Second Chance Animal Rescue Society will be on site during the event and will accept financial donations.
121 years ago, on September 1, 1905, the province of Alberta was established through the Alberta Act. This date provides all people living in Alberta with the opportunity to celebrate what defines the province—innovation, entrepreneurialism, cultural heritage, and community spirit.
