In accordance with Athabasca County Fire Services Bylaw 015-2023 section 8, the Fire Control Order (Fire Restriction) is now lifted for lands within Athabasca County located outside the Forest Protection Area (FPA).
Residents and visitors are reminded to practice safe burning practices. As per Fire Services Bylaw 015-2023, fireworks and exploding targets are prohibited on public lands outside the FPA year-round. All open burning outside the FPA, except for fires contained within in bylaw compliant firepits, require a permit issued by the County year-round.
This revocation comes into effect at 11 o’clock a.m. on the 22nd day of August 2025.
