Athabasca County Fire Control Order Lifted May 23rd 2024

FIRE CONTROL ORDER LIFTED

In accordance with Athabasca County Fire Services Bylaw 015-2023 section 8, the fire restriction that was previously in place is now lifted for the area of the County outside the Forest Protection Area. No restrictions are in place at this time.

Residents and visitors are reminded to practice safe burning practices. As per Fire Services Bylaw 015-2023 fireworks and exploding targets are prohibited on public lands outside the FPA year-round. All open burning outside the FPA, except for fires contained within in bylaw compliant fire pits, requires a permit issued by the County.

This revocation comes into effect at 10 o’clock a.m. on the 23rd day of May 2024.
