Athabasca County Fire Ban Lifted (June 13th, 2025)

In accordance with Athabasca County Fire Services Bylaw 015-2023 section 8, the Fire Control Order (Fire Ban) is now lifted for lands within Athabasca County located outside the Forest Protection Area (FPA).

Residents and visitors are reminded to practice safe burning practices. As per Fire Services Bylaw 015-2023 fireworks and exploding targets are prohibited on public lands outside the FPA year-round. All open burning outside the FPA, except for fires contained within in bylaw compliant fire pits, require a permit issued by the County. This revocation comes into effect at 4:30 o’clock p.m. on the 13th day of June 2025.
