FIRE CONTROL ORDER #2026-02
FIRE ADVISORY
In accordance with Athabasca County Fire Services Bylaw 015-2023 section 8, a Fire Control Order is now in effect for lands within Athabasca County, located outside the Forest Protection Area.
With a seasonal green up occurring across the region, Athabasca County is downgrading from Fire Restriction to Fire Advisory.
Under this advisory:
• Fire Permits may be issued on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Fire Guardian.
• Existing permits are reinstated.
This Fire Control Order comes into effect at 2 o’clock p.m. on the 19th day of May 2026 and will remain in effect until amended or revoked by the proper authority of Athabasca County.
