Athabasca County Council proposes to pass Borrowing Bylaw 007-2026 to provide for debenture borrowing to finance the acquisition of SW-30-66-19-W4 (664036 Range Road 195.5) and capital improvements for the Public Works Shop Facility.
The financing required amounts to five million five hundred thousand dollars ($5,500,000) and the term of the loan will be fifteen (15) years, with the interest rate fixed by the Province of Alberta, or another authorized financial institution, on the date of borrowing, and not to exceed ten (10) percent.
Therefore, notice is hereby given that, unless a petition calling for a vote of the electors to determine whether proposed Bylaw 007-2026 should be passed, Athabasca County may pass the said bylaw.
The bylaw and related information may be viewed with this link, or inspected in person at the County Office, 3602-48th Avenue, Athabasca, from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.

Procedure to File a Petition
Electors may submit a petition with respect to this bylaw calling for a vote of the electors to determine whether the proposed bylaw should be passed. The petition must meet the formal requirements of sections 219-226, section 226.2 and section 231 of the Municipal Government Act and be filed with the Chief Administrative Officer within 15 days after the last date the proposed bylaw is advertised. The last date of advertisement for Bylaw 007-2026 is January 20, 2026.
