The Athabasca County Agricultural Service Board encourages local high school students and mature students to choose a career in agriculture or a related field and to financially support them with a $1,500 bursary while attending a post-secondary institution. Support is to encourage students to enhance their knowledge and return to Athabasca County to apply their new skills.
Eligible applicants must apply and provide supporting documentation to the Manager of Agriculture Services by September 15th and must include:
- A completed application form answering all questions in entirety
- Proof of enrolment in the post-secondary education institution
- A 500-750 word essay outlining why the applicant feels they are a deserving candidate and outlining their current and future role in agriculture
